The actress Rubina Dilaik took an unconventional role of transgender in the television show “Shakti … Astitva Ke Ehsaas.” She said she was confident to go to the maker’s move to enter such character in the mainstream show.
“After the jump, when the creative team discussed the future of Soumya, I found the plot to be unusual, intriguing and extremely challenging. I was very confident about their move to introduce a transgender character in the big show,” Rubina told IANS.
“As an actor, I saw it as a platform for an essay a character that have never been explored on the Indian TV before,” said 28-year-old. Rubina said the perception in the minds of people in the LGBT community is slowly but surely changing in today’s society.
“With the nation stands with the LGBT community, there is definitely a wave of change that we are finally witnessing. Although this is a very slow process, it is stable,” said Rubin.
I have read many of the community who have reached great heights in their career – have been appointed as teachers and even won the election. I believe in the power of nature. I believe that with constant effort and a progressive point of view, the situation will change in the near future, “she added.
