WASHINGTON: A policeman was killed and another injured in a shooting at a stop motion in San Diego, police said on Friday. Hispanic man was later taken into custody, the police chief of San Diego Shelley Zimmerman told a news conference.
Officers radioed that they were making a raid on Thursday, and then called for emergency backup soon after, she said. The officers, who were shot by the first two had been shot. One died in the hospital, Zimmerman said.
It was too early to say whether the officers in an ambush, she added. Police launched a manhunt after the incident.
America has been on the edge for a few weeks after the police shooting in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. These attacks followed anger among the black community about the alleged shooting deaths of African Americans by white police officers in Minnesota and Louisiana.
